Hello! My name is James Michalek, but please call me Jim. Only my mom and sister called me James, and it usually meant I was in trouble.
I started COMMON SENSE TODAY because I think there is too much trouble in our country and the world, and it is time to do something about it! At the age of 69, I thought, “What can I do to help make things better for all of us?” I felt that common sense had become a forgotten process by which we tried to resolve problems or issues. This motivated me to start my organization, which aims to revive common sense in the US.
With the help of others, I decided to try and make our country a better and safer place to live in and give a brighter future to our kids and grandkids. I asked a number of people what we need to do to get the ball rolling. There were many great ideas, and the one I feel has the most benefit is honest elections. This is the objective I’d like to focus on for now.
A standard set of rules accepted by all states would ensure an honest election. I have heard too many people say they do not want to vote anymore because of all nonsense that goes on. Both Democrats and Republicans, when they were in control, failed to come up with an acceptable election guideline.
I have 45 years of experience in pushing for change in our community. However, even with my years of experience, establishing standard election guidelines is no easy task. To achieve my goals, I established the organization COMMON SENSE TODAY and set up a checking account. I am talking with lawyers and accountants about any legal and other matters that may need to be addressed.
